So your defrost. I thought I would stop over in the local yard and get tearing.
I ripped up two Cavalier/sunfires, the first one I tore the dash completely out (which I'll save you most of the film on) and reverse engineered the entire body wiring harness looking for the rear defrost. Lots of cutting and tagging. LOTS. Suffice to say, that dash didn't come very easy and I don't like playing with airbags.
I then went to a second Sunfire to film a small look-see and give you the next pointers on where to look for your defrost problem.
And then I looked at some gems in the yard. SO velour. SO Malaise. SO Vinyl Jump seat.
I also found a special prize that I will send to the first person who wishes to claim it. ***Zipppy has claimed an Achy breaky Heart.***

Hey Clay! What other u pick scrapyard is there in Edmonton other than Buck's Auto in Sherwood Park and Pick-N-Pull in Edmonton? Neither of them have a Mazda 323 or protoge with the 1.6L SOHC.

Thanks very much for doing this, it was totally awesome.
I will make a trip to get the switch. I think if I can't find one with the right ac properties (ie lacking, since I don't have A/C) I will practice on it, and then wait for a non AC one to come in.
I am actually really really good at taking off Cavalier dashboards. I can take them off and put them back on in 20 mins.
Life skills. Nice Pariesenne at the end there, that thing was awesome.
I will take note of your torx bits advice, and try to find some small ones. Ottawa fastener and supply might have some.

Hey clay.
I finally got my parts. Thanks for the video I watched it before heading out. The plastic bezel is a royal pain, its not bad to get off but the hard wired bits make it really hard to move out of the way!!

What was that (presumably GM) product with the period ruby red velour?
